Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican American journalist. She is currently an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by her age of nine. The ability which helped her obtain her first position as an Univision production assistant in Miami. There, she was a producer for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her first job was as an reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. After 2009, the news reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. She was also often asked to be a sports and weather anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her more responsibility. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. The show was promoted to be anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same job was held as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents were originally native to Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an older sister. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. On a trip Antonietta was staying at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed a new job. Antonietta still a senior at high school and knew exactly what career path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta visited the campus. The campus was a dream for her. They also offered her the degree she wanted. She completed her schooling and was admitted to the university as a major studying media and communication studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a member of her class, formed an ongoing relationship with her. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his love of journalism.
